Getting Technical.

This list of features is for technical individuals. Please remember that attempting to describe the IPAD 2500™ with just a list of features is missing a very large part of the picture. Keep this in mind as you find out more about the IPAD 2500.

If you want to see how vulnerable your system is to attacks when connected to the Internet, check out www.cert.org/advisories/. The CERT advisory archive lists hundreds of ways to crash systems and to gain access to data on those systems. The advisories are highly technical, but looking at a few will give you a feel for how vulnerable systems are, even when experts install them. (Hint: Try searching for your favorite firewall and operating system then search for IPAD 2500.)

FIREWALL

		IPAD-OS hacker-proof operating system version 7.5. This is the most secure operating system available at any price. No hardening needed.
		True IP Address Expansion™ firewall with unlimited number of protected users. Default configuration protects 1022 users. Fully RFC1918 compliant but not limited to just private addresses. No client configuration is necessary.
		Full transparent support for protocols not possible on low end firewalls such as H.323, PPTP Virtual Private Networking, and streaming multimedia.
		Full support for servers behind the firewall via Passthru™ technology. This allows much higher security for servers while allowing unlimited growth.

SERVERS

		Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) mail server supporting unlimited domains and gateway mail service to other servers.
		Highly customizable dynamic spam filtering with support for Greylisting, source blocking based on Country Code, Uniform Resource Identifier Blacklist (URIBL) and Domain Name Service Black List (DNSBL) blocking supporting both remote and local services. Includes unlimited local white and black lists along with unlimited exempt addresses.
		Virus-proof web server based on technology not vulnerable to any Microsoft IIS or Apache exploits. Hundreds of web sites can be created on a single IP address. Includes unlimited password protected sites, page counters and forms processing. Unlimited MIME types may be added including new definitions for the default types.
		Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP3) mail server supporting unlimited domains, unlimited accounts and unlimited alias addresses. Includes native support for MultiDrop and Mirrored mailboxes.
		Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server with instant-on, Zero-configuration ability.
		Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Agent with support for hundreds of communities.
		Domain Name Server supporting unlimited number of Primary domains and unlimited number of Secondary domains.
		File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server with unlimited domains, unlimited user accounts and full support for anonymous logins. FTP server is immune to remote scripting attacks.
		Finger server that is totally immune to attacks aimed at this service.
		Domain Name System (DNS) full caching resolver. Recursive domain resolves may be enabled or restricted as desired.
		Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP3) Client. This can retrieve email from remote POP3 servers for delivery to local mailboxes or relay to other servers. Native support for MultiDrop and Mirrored mailboxes included.
		Remote Access Service (RAS) server with unlimited number of user accounts. Allows dial-in modem connections with full support for Serial Line Internet Protocol (SLIP) and Point to Point Protocol (PPP) connections. Full control over time limits and access is supported.
		Common Internet File System (CIFS) file server. This allows file sharing between compatible CIFS clients or other CIFS servers.

CONNECTIVITY

		Industrial class routing with IPAD-OS anti-spoofing technology to block questionable activity. Router supports hundreds of IP address blocks covering millions of individual IP addresses. Full native support for classless routing, split horizon routes and unnumbered interfaces.
		Hundreds of secondary IP address may be assigned.
		Router Information Protocol (RIP) version 1 and version 2 support. This includes ability to do split horizon and local route publishing. Can be explicitly set to ignore and/or publish to selected RIP sources.
		Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) support to automatically detect existing connections on networks and prevent DHCP use of those addresses. Full Proxy ARP is also supported if desired.
		Reverse ARP is supported to static mapping of Ethernet MAC addresses to IP addresses in ARP or Proxy ARP settings.

CONTROL

		Complete system and account management can be performed through a web browser. Allows control over system operation, configuration and user account management.
		Maintenance telnet support. This allows access to rudimentary diagnostic functions.
		Supervisor telnet support. This allows full access to the operating system controls and diagnostic functions.
		Local console support. This provides a real time view of system activity and access to system controls and diagnostic functions. Low level access to the operating system kernel is always password protected for maximum security.
		Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) agent. This includes low level access to every part of the operating system and interface hardware. Supports unlimited number of communities each with individual access rights. Full support for SNMP-traps and notify communities. Detailed Management Information Base (MIB) file included.
		Complete system-wide backup and restore support included.
		Factory reset option. To restore system to original factory configuration when desired.
		FTP server can limit simultaneous anonymous connections independently of total user connection limits.
		All user accounts may be individually or globally limited for time, access and ability for each server.
		Activity history logging. The default activity log maintenance automatically rolls off old information without any need for human involvement.
		Packet filtering support on every interface, user and packet type.

COMPATIBILITY

		Network Time Protocol (NTP) client. Supports automatic setting of internal system clock from any public or private NTP service. A private tier-two NTP server is available to IPAD 2500 owners free of charge.
		Daylight Saving Time (DST) and Summer Time (ST) support for any location in the world including support for United States 2007 date changes.
		Fully compatible with every operating system able to connect to the Internet.
		Fully HIPAA compliant connectivity.
